The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) has announced that the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) school placement results will be released a week before October 30, 2024. This means students and parents can expect the placement results between October 23 and 27, 2024.
Mark Sasu, National Coordinator of CSSPS, assures that the secretariat is working efficiently to meet the deadline, despite concerns about the limited time. The placement process requires five necessary data sets: the school register, master file (bio file), choice file, vacancy file, and results file.
Types of Placements
Students can expect one of three placement outcomes:
- Automatic School Placement: Students who passed BECE and were successfully placed in one of their chosen schools.
- Self Placement: Students who passed but weren't placed in any of their chosen schools can select a new school from the self-placement module.
- No Placement: Students who obtained grade 9 in either mathematics or English or both won't be placed and can't use the self-placement module.
Security Measures
To address potential fraud, the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES), TVET division, and the Minister of Education have engaged security agencies.
A total of 569,236 candidates, comprising 282,703 males and 286,533 females from 19,505 Junior High Schools, participated in the examination. The exams were held at 2,123 centers nationwide, with 3,845 candidates absent.
Students and parents eagerly await the outcome to plan their transition to the next phase of their education. Would you like to know more about the BECE results or school placement process?
