Breaking : 18 year old sentenced to life imprisonment over kasoa ritual killing


In a gruesome 2021 murder case, two suspects were found guilty of conspiracy to commit murder and murder of a 10-year-old boy in Kasoa. After a three-year trial, the High Court delivered its verdict, sentencing 18-year-old Nicholas Kini to life in prison.

According to investigators, the plot involved watching a spiritualist's video promising wealth in exchange for human blood and GH¢5,000. The suspects lured the victim to an uncompleted building, struck him on the head, and buried him alive.

The prosecution presented seven witnesses, including the victim's father and police officers. The first accused, who was 15 at the time, admitted involvement but pleaded not guilty to murder. Nicholas Kini denied involvement but was found guilty.

Justice Lydia Osei Marfo urged the jury to uphold the conscience of the nation, leading to a unanimous guilty verdict. The juvenile court will determine the fate of the first accused.
